Transportation Initiatives
Take the Bus - It’s Free With ID
If you have a Notre Dame ID, any TRANSPO bus is free, anytime. So try taking the bus to work, and on your next weekend outing too! Route 7 takes you to Notre Dame. See TRANSPO for all other routes.
Bike to School - and to Work
Biking is great for the environment, your wallet, and your health. There are bike loops in dozens of locations around campus - check them out in the Guide to Michiana Bike Routes.
Regional Transportation Planning
The Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG) is collaborating with South Bend Public Transportation (TRANSPO) to develop the CONNECT Transit Plan. CONNECT will address the area's long-range transportation plan, which includes bussing, walking, biking, and more. You can provide your thoughts by filling out the Michiana On the Move Survey.
Zipcar
The campus ride-share servicer, Zipcar, has decided to withdraw its services from the University of Notre Dame, and they will be removing their vehicles from campus on June 19, 2023. If you have any questions about your membership, please contact their member services team at (866) 494-7227.
If you have benefited from Zipcar's services and/or would like to provide feedback on this topic, please complete this form.
Airport & Regional Travel To and From Campus
South Bend has multiple transportation options to get you to and from the region's airports and to the city of Chicago. Check out Notre Dame's transportation services page for more information.
