In an academic convocation at the University of Notre Dame's Basilica of the Sacred Heart on Thursday evening, October 38th, His All-Holiness Bartholomew, Archbishop of Constantinople-New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, received an honorary degree from the University and offered an address on environmental sustainability and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Global Catholic Climate Movement

The Catholic Climate Movement is united by the Catholic faith and by the moral imperative of responding to and raising awareness about climate change, encouraging the renewal of our relationship with God’s creation, for current and future generations.

Catholic Relief Services is playing an important role in reducing the impact of climate change on poor and vulnerable communities throughout the world. Together with their partners, CRS works with communities whose lives and rights are threatened by disasters and climate change. The CRS is making the effort to “care for creation.”
Environment/Environmental Justice Program- United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
The Catholic Church brings a distinct perspective to the discussion of environmental questions, by lifting up the moral dimensions of these issues and the needs of the most vulnerable among us. This unique contribution is rooted in Catholic teaching calling us to care for creation and for "the least of these." (Mt 25:40) The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops offers resources and guidelines of how to care for the environment and the vulnerable.

Indiana Catholic Conference
The Indiana Catholic Conference (ICC) is the official public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Indiana regarding state and national matters. The ICC also provides a source to which public inquiry can be made about the position of the Church on matters affecting the common good. Additionally, the ICC provides resources and Catholic views on public policy regarding the environment and sustainability.
