On Sunday April 22nd at 4pm, GreeND’s annual Fashion Show will be held in the LaFortune Ballroom and will include outfits designed by both students and professionals.
Hockey fans can be maniacal about their teams, but during the February 24th ND vs. Michigan State hockey game, fans had another reason to be wild. GreeND, the Office of Sustainability and Athletics joined forces to make this hockey game a RecycleMania Gameday Recycling event.
Shelly Fuhrman ’12 shares her experience working with ND LIGHTS, a Notre Dame program that takes working equipment and instrumentation from retired or upgraded campus laboratories and donates them to underfunded schools in the U.S. and abroad.
The interactive campus map now has a new “Green Tour” overlay. This layer allows students, staff, faculty, and guests to better understand where sustainability initiatives are happening on campus and to utilize the physical campus as a learning experience.
Touchdown Jesus’ halo shines a bit brighter these days. High-efficiency LED lights now illuminate the Word of Life mural on Hesburgh Library. The lights replaced mercury vapor fixtures that previously illuminated the 134-foot tall mural.
The University of Notre Dame recently received a Certificate of Recognition from the state of Indiana’s Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) for its storm water management program on campus.
On Monday, February 9th, Notre Dame held its second annual Green Summit. This event gave roughly 200 students, staff and faculty the opportunity to participate in a campus-wide sustainability planning session.
