In honor of South Bend’s 150th anniversary, The Crossing Educational Center and Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka are teaming up for a special Earth Day event to beautify the Renaissance District, near the historic Studebaker property.

On Wednesday April 22nd from 9:00am-3:00pm volunteers will work along side Crossings students to help plant up to 200 new trees, spread top soil, paint fire hydrants, crosswalks and custom sidewalk art, pick up trash throughout the entire district, clean sidewalks, and prepare reclaimed wood flooring from the Studebaker factory. There is no better day for an event like this than Earth Day! The first 200 volunteers will receive a free T-shirt and a day pass to be used at the Kroc Center.
