Have you ever thought about how sports and the environment are connected? Are you an athlete wondering what your role in the green movement is?

Join Professor Annie Coleman's Sport and Environment class in welcoming Madeleine Orr and Lew Blaustein to her class on Monday, March 4th! Orr and Blaustein will be leading a discussion on the relationship between sports and climate, with a focus on how us as athletes and sports fans can make a difference in creating a greener industry.

Dr. Madeleine Orr is Assistant Professor of Sports Ecology at the University of Toronto and founder of the Sport Ecology Group. She was named to the Forbes’ Sports 30 Under 30 list, and works to bridge the fields of sport management, natural resource science, and environmental policy. Her research focuses on climate vulnerability and adaptation, highlights the role of athletes as climate activists, and measures the impacts of sport on climate.

Lew Blaustein spent much of his career supporting businesses and helping nonprofits build their green brands through marketing, communications, and consulting. He is the proud founder of GreenSportsBlog and EcoAthletes, which both work to inspire athletes to take and lead climate action. He is working for a #ClimateComeback and wants to help Green the Irish.
