In 1978, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield co-founded Ben & Jerry’s ice cream company in Burlington, VT with an $8,000 investment. Since then, the local operation has grown into a multi-million dollar business which produces inventive ice cream flavors and promotes political and environmental activism.
