Dr. Ian Lightcap, Research and Facilities Program Director for the Materials Characterization Facility (MCF), will be participating in this year's Core Facilities Fair, sponsored by ND Research. Researchers are encouraged to stop by and learn more about the MCF and its capabilities in the following key areas:
- General Materials Characterization - Modern instrumentation and expertise for solid, liquid, and gas characterization by spectroscopic, thermal, X-ray, BET, and spectrometric analytical methods.
- Photovoltaic and Electrocatalyst Characterization - Two catalyst and photovoltaic testing stations include solar simulators, automated gas sampling loops for in-line GC evolved gas detection, and a potentiostat with electrochemical impedance and rotating disc electrode capabilities.
- Crystallographic Characterization - Powder and single crystal x-ray diffractometers are available for a wide range of structural characterization.
The MCF is an open-access facility and is available to internal and external users, both academic and industrial. For more information and to schedule use of the equipment, contact Dr. Ian Lightcap at 574-631-1493 or email@example.com.
This event is open to all interested undergraduate students, graduate students, post-docs, faculty, and staff, as well as external customers, who wish to learn more about what the core facilities are and how their state-of-the-art instrumentation and expertise can benefit research projects or work areas.
