Despite being temporarily moved to the County 4H Fairgrounds, this year’s Old2Gold event saw higher attendance than last year’s event, bringing in 1,688 attendees. Traditionally located in Notre Dame Stadium’s concourse, Old2Gold, the university’s year-end campus yard sale, had to be moved off site this year due to construction on the Campus Crossroads project.

Although campus organizers were concerned that the change of venue might impact sales, net sales of the 71 tons of collected materials rose by $3,172 to $36,568.

“The 2015 Old 2 Gold Sale was a huge success” said Marty Ogren, the Associate Director of Warehouse, Delivery and Transportation, “I would like to give a big thank you to the Notre Dame students who donated items, all of the members of the Notre Dame community who worked so hard to organize the sale, the local agencies who volunteered and the customers who attended the sale! The funds raised will be put to good use to serve many of our neighbors.”

A highly successful venue for donating gently used items since 2005, the Old2Gold sale collects donated items from student dorm move-out and resells them to the community at a steep discount. All proceeds from the sale are distributed amongst the 21 volunteer organizations that assist in coordinating and conducting the event.
