This holiday season, members of the Office of Sustainability will be visiting departments across the campus, bearing timers and green office tips. The timers are to be used for Christmas lights that aren’t currently turned off each night. Each timer comes with a Christmas card containing ways to conserve energy and resources in the office, ranging from turning off the printers each night to finding an alternative to individually bottled water.

Each office is encouraged to choose a commitment for the holiday season, which will hopefully become a permanent New Year’s Resolution. “It’s a great opportunity for us to meet more of the campus community and save energy at the same time,” said sustainability intern Anna Amberkar ’10.

If you would like a timer for the Christmas decorations in your office, please email sustainability@nd.edu and we will be sure to visit this week.
