Staff Opportunities

We ask you to consider the daily personal choices you make that cumulatively have a significant impact on Notre Dame's ability to reach its sustainability goals.  How do you get from here to there? What do you do with that plastic bottle? Do you need to print that document or view it online? These are the day-to-day personal choices that we each make.

Get more involved as a Green Ambassador - a sustainability champion that is a liaison between your office and the Office of Sustainability - with the goal of making changes in your workplace and sharing good ideas.  As you become a leader for sustainable practices in your office, you'll be able to have a greater positive impact within the scope of your role.   

What does it mean to be a Notre Dame Green Ambassador?

Our Green Ambassadors are a network of individuals interested in implementing sustainable practices within their own offices and departments. The program connects staff members with sustainability resources on campus and also develops ideas to improve campus-wide engagement.  Many of our Green Ambassadors assist with certifying their offices as part of the Green Office Certification program.  By becoming a Green Ambassador, you will:

  • Play an active role in your office's sustainability activities.
  • You'll receive a quarterly email newsletter informing you about sustainability-related campus activities and other resources.
  • Lead your office in the Green Office Certification program.
  • Expand your skillset and knowledge of sustainability concepts.
  • Join a cross-campus network of peers working together to share ideas, problem-solve, and facilitate change.
  • Start an Office Green Team.
