2022 has been a tough year to purchase any car due to continuing supply chain woes, and high gas prices have sparked more intense demand for fuel efficient and electric vehicles. Yet 2022 is also a pivotal year for electric vehicles. The fast charging network for long-distance travel is poised to be transformed through major private and federal investments, at a time when available vehicle models are proliferating and electric pickup trucks and electric SUVs are finally entering the market. Learn about how the local, state, and national charging environment is improving and electric vehicles are moving mainstream as nearly a quarter of U.S. drivers report they would consider purchasing an EV for their next vehicle.
You will also learn practical tips on how to find public charging, which vehicles still have the federal tax credit, local utility incentives for home charging, and what vehicle models are available and coming soon. Guests from the local Michiana Electric Vehicle Drivers Network will share about their personal experience switching to electric vehicles. Learn about upcoming electric vehicle events at First Fridays where you can see a wide range of plug-in hybrid and all-electric models, meet their local owners, and even get behind the wheel for a test drive!
