As climate change continues to have a large impact on humans, renewable and sustainable energy sources are becoming even more critical. This virtual workshop, organized jointly by the American Chemical Society and the Materials Research Society, will address critical issues today on the frontiers of green energy with a focus on materials advancements and developments in four major areas—solar energy, light emitting diodes (LEDs), batteries, and hydrogen.
Each of these topical areas will be overviewed by a speaker who is a leader in the field. A panel discussion will follow each presentation with a group of experts. The goal is to generate fruitful discussions and identify critical research needs in the near term to move the fields forward. The workshop will be of great interest to active practitioners in these fields as well as students new to the field to get a broader perspective, with a format that allows for extensive discussions.
