Learning in a Time of Crisis: Stories from the University of Sagrado Corazón after Hurricane María

-

Location: Jenkins Nanovic 1030

After Hurricane Maria ravaged the island of Puerto Rico on Sept. 20, 2017, many schools and universities were closed for weeks, or even months. One of the first institutions to open its doors to students, faculty, and staff, was the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón. We invite you to join the panel “Learning in a Time of Crisis: Stories From the University of Sagrado Corazón after Hurricane María”,  to listen to Sagrado’s story of recovery and resilience in the aftermath of a disaster. The panel will feature Sagrado’s President, Gilberto Marxuach, the Director of the School of Communications Ferré Rangel, Dr. Gabriel Paizy, and Prof. Sonia Fritz. Reception to follow.  You can find more information on this and other events at listeningtopuertorico.org.

This is a free event and open to all. Reception to follow.

This event is hosted by the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures with co-sponsorships from the Institute for Latino Studies and the Office of the Provost.
