Dr. Richard Jackson chaired the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Environmental Health and served 15 years at the CDC, where he established the National Asthma Epidemiology and Control Program and advanced the childhood lead poisoning prevention program. He is the founder of the Design­ing Healthy Com­mu­ni­ties Project, which exam­ines the con­nec­tion between poor com­mu­nity design and bur­geon­ing health costs based upon key pub­lic health indices including obe­sity, dia­betes, heart, asthma, can­cer and depres­sion.
