Actively reduce waste:
- Consciously participate in the campus recycling program
- Utilize recycled materials whenever possible (including for publications)
- When appropriate, adjust printer settings to print on both sides
Actively conserve electricity:
- Shut off lights when not in use
- Utilize power save settings for personal computers
- Keep windows shut when heating and cooling systems are on
- Purchase only Energy Star compliant appliances where available
- Utilize compact fluorescent bulbs (rather than incandescent bulbs) in desk lamps
Actively conserve water:
- Take shorter showers
- Shut off running water when brushing teeth
- Report leaks and plumbing problems immediately
