Last week, a new addition to the Notre Dame campus skyline demonstrated the University’s commitment to renewable energy in a very visible way. Mounted on the roof of the Notre Dame power plant, a vertical axis wind turbine now looks over campus and will feed directly into the campus electrical grid.

Warren Golf Course receives Audubon Certification

The Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame, which is situated on 250 wooded acres next to the northeast corner of campus, has retained its designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The course is one of only eight in the state of Indiana to have achieved the certification from Audubon.

Tricycles Provide Alternative Transportation

The Utilities Department has taken a bold step toward reducing their carbon footprint and improving the health of their staff. The department purchased ten yellow tricycles over the summer as an alternative way for the Building Controls and Building Systems staff to get around campus.
