reCYCLE is a new inter-office bike program from the Office of Sustainability designed for administrative offices to use on short trips and errands around campus.
The program was developed by the Office of Sustainability in collaboration with Campus Services and local vendor Avenue Bicycle Station.
The program works by first selecting high-quality reclaimed used bikes for refurbishment. These bikes are then refurbished by a local bike shop and are painted in Notre Dame colors. Once they’re ready for use, the bikes are distributed to interested offices for free. Additional or replacement bikes may be provided for a fee. Any maintenance, accessories or upgrades are the responsibility of the participating offices and participating offices must fill out forms for tracking and metrics.
